Car Accident

These are pictures of what used to be my minivan. We are lucky to be alive. Everyone is fine just stiff and sore. Hopefully it won't last too long.
An older style motorhome was entering the interstate at Wiggins. I moved into the left lane to let him on. Apparently, he decided to turn around because he didn't want to go East. He turned right in front of me to use an emergency turn around in the median. I swerved to try not to t-bone him. Fortunately, I kept it on all four wheels and we are all fine with only minor injuries. We have some bruises and abrasions and stiff necks but nothing broken. God was taking care of us!

The Little Mermaid

Thursday we got to go to a VIP night at the Denver Performing Arts Center. Cadillac sponsored the evening. Whitney got four tickets for a fancy dinner and second row seats to see a performance of Disney's the Little Mermaid. She took Dan and I and Lindsey Dorrenbacher with her. The musical was absolutely amazing! The effects were incredible. They are taking this very production to Broadway. After, we got to go backstage and meet Ariel. She is a native Colorado girl who was in the Colorado Children's Choir and has made it big. Isn't she neat?! We didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. Dan even liked it and I think he would go to another one as long as it was something fun and light like this one. It sure has been fun to be an Ambassador. She gets to help with the Grand Opening of Children's new hospital on Sept. 11.

First Softball Tournament

The Akron Lady Rams had their first softball games this weekend. They played in a
tournament in Sheridan, Colorado. They won 4 games and lost 1 and placed third. They missed the championship game because the team that beat them got beat by a team we beat but they allowed fewer runs so they got to play in the championship. The girls beat two 4A teams a 5A JV team and a 3A team. They lost to a 3A team. They outscored their opponents 34-9. I don't think that is too bad for a second year team. The team they beat for third was from Jefferson. They are a 4A team with 1400 kids in their high school. We have 120.
This other picture is of the 3 Amigos. On any given day it is a toss up as to who is the dingiest! It is good they are best of friends since they are the two pitchers and the catcher!
Rochelle was dared to put her hair in pigtails. She looks ten. It is hard to take her seriously with her hair like that. I think she should do it always because she didn't lose her temper one time with it like that. It looked pretty funny when she was running after a foul ball too. She had a great weekend defensively. She threw out two runners at third, two at second, picked a runner off at first, tagged two out at home and got a runner out at home on a hit that died on the plate. She only had one throwing error in 5 games. Her hitting wasn't where she wanted it but it is coming. She had a couple of foul balls that were homers if they would have been fair so she is right there.
