Pom - Playoff Football 2007

Pom did a country kickline for their routine at the first playoff football game against Meeker. It was very cute.

Mikayla

Well Mikayla is an excellent student. She is the best math student however, her grades aren't the top. She makes too many careless mistakes on her daily work. Oh well, she still has a solid A. She is done with volleyball and can't wait for basketball. Look she is starting to wear a little eye makeup! She is with Ro's friend Brittany. Brittany is 5'11" so I think Mikayla is probably about 5'8". She towers over me!

Rochelle

Rochelle is done with softball. They had a great season. Her grades were good too. She needs to work a little harder in History but luckily she has 9 more weeks to bring that grade up. They are dancing for pom today at the playoff football game. It is cute; it is a kick line dance to various country songs. She starts basketball on the 12th. She is going to be sore and she is going to be sucking air. She has done absolutely nothing since softball ended.

Whitney's Volleyball

Well here she is the "star" athelete. She is done with volleyball but she really enjoyed it. After Thanksgiving, she will be on to basketball. Her grades were good except for Accelerated Reader so I was happy about that.

Ro's Halloween

How do you like Rochelle and Logan's costumes? They dressed up as dorking teenagers. They did absolutely nothing for Halloween except jump on the tramp and try to annoy everyone else. Rochelle had the sillies and Logan just deals with her. Anyway, they were safe at home where I knew what was going on!

Mikayla's Party

Mikayla had a "herd of nerds" over for a Halloween party. They were at our house from about 4 to 9. I think they had a good time except for some of the jr. high girl drama! There always has to be some. They ate and ate and ate. Then they went trick or treating for a little while and then they ate and ate and ate. They watched a movie or two and then I sent the drama queens home.

Trick or Treat

Whitney is the only one who officially went trick 0r treating. She had a blast. We were out about 2 hours and her bag was full! We were at Dan's aunt and uncle's and she told them "I'm making pretty good progress here." I guess the time is limited for having trick or treaters at my house.

Car Accident

These are pictures of what used to be my minivan. We are lucky to be alive. Everyone is fine just stiff and sore. Hopefully it won't last too long.
An older style motorhome was entering the interstate at Wiggins. I moved into the left lane to let him on. Apparently, he decided to turn around because he didn't want to go East. He turned right in front of me to use an emergency turn around in the median. I swerved to try not to t-bone him. Fortunately, I kept it on all four wheels and we are all fine with only minor injuries. We have some bruises and abrasions and stiff necks but nothing broken. God was taking care of us!

The Little Mermaid

Thursday we got to go to a VIP night at the Denver Performing Arts Center. Cadillac sponsored the evening. Whitney got four tickets for a fancy dinner and second row seats to see a performance of Disney's the Little Mermaid. She took Dan and I and Lindsey Dorrenbacher with her. The musical was absolutely amazing! The effects were incredible. They are taking this very production to Broadway. After, we got to go backstage and meet Ariel. She is a native Colorado girl who was in the Colorado Children's Choir and has made it big. Isn't she neat?! We didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. Dan even liked it and I think he would go to another one as long as it was something fun and light like this one. It sure has been fun to be an Ambassador. She gets to help with the Grand Opening of Children's new hospital on Sept. 11.

First Softball Tournament

The Akron Lady Rams had their first softball games this weekend. They played in a
tournament in Sheridan, Colorado. They won 4 games and lost 1 and placed third. They missed the championship game because the team that beat them got beat by a team we beat but they allowed fewer runs so they got to play in the championship. The girls beat two 4A teams a 5A JV team and a 3A team. They lost to a 3A team. They outscored their opponents 34-9. I don't think that is too bad for a second year team. The team they beat for third was from Jefferson. They are a 4A team with 1400 kids in their high school. We have 120.
This other picture is of the 3 Amigos. On any given day it is a toss up as to who is the dingiest! It is good they are best of friends since they are the two pitchers and the catcher!
Rochelle was dared to put her hair in pigtails. She looks ten. It is hard to take her seriously with her hair like that. I think she should do it always because she didn't lose her temper one time with it like that. It looked pretty funny when she was running after a foul ball too. She had a great weekend defensively. She threw out two runners at third, two at second, picked a runner off at first, tagged two out at home and got a runner out at home on a hit that died on the plate. She only had one throwing error in 5 games. Her hitting wasn't where she wanted it but it is coming. She had a couple of foul balls that were homers if they would have been fair so she is right there.

Fun at the Lake

What a great time! Too bad everyone is growing up so fast and we don't get to do this as much.

Whitney's First Day of 4th Grade

Like always Whitney loves school. She couldn't sleep last night she was so excited. Of course she wore a dress today with clickle shoes. She has Mrs. Measles the same teacher she had in second grade so she was thrilled. She decided not to take bologna for snack the first day so Mrs. Measles wouldn't "freak out". Maybe tomorrow.

Mikayla's First Day of School

Mikayla's first day of Jr. High went very well. She seems to like it. Volleyball went well but she says she is really out of shape! She is even wearing some eye makeup.

Ro's First Day of School

Rochelle's first day of school was Thursday, August 23. She says she doesn't like school, but I think she does

Rochelle's Vacation

Rochelle's vacation consisted of lots of softball. We were in the same city although we didn't see much of her. Her team didn't play as well as she would have liked but it was a great experience and she had a ton of fun. She met some neat girls and made some new friends. Shopping the Boulder way is different than the Boyce way that is for sure!!

Mom, Mikayla and Whitney on Vacation

We enjoyed a vacation to Phoenix, AZ at the end of July. I know that is a dumb time to go but Rochelle got to play softball in the USSSA World Series with a team from Boulder, CO. We stayed with my high school friend Sheri. It was relaxing and believe it or not it wasn't all that hot. We hit the monsoon season so it rained and was overcast. Mikayla and Whitney got to swim and swim in Sheri's pool. We went to Tuscon one day for a tour of the Pima Air and Space Museum. Dan and I would like to go back, we did not have enough time. That place is incredible.

Dan and girls

Dan went with us on our vacation. He scared Whitney with his trip way out to the edge of one point at the Grand Canyon. He enjoyed Sheri's pool too. They even swam when it was raining. We met my cousin David Wayne for dinner one evening. That was fun to visit with him about his job at the nuclear power plant. Dan didn't think there was anyone who could talk more than Whitney!
